This will help but NOT eliminate water traveling thru the shaft to the electronics. Remove lower shaft and coil (disconnecting coil cable from control housing first) from upper shaft and fill "U" shaped void at top of the shaft with Hot Melt Glue or Epoxy(the most important thing is sealing not thickness, we are trying to create an upside down glass or float to prevent the water from filling the lower shaft in the first place.
