    CTX 3030 on the beach

Just a quick question for the people in the know, I use my CTX as I used to use the etrac, setting the noise cancel into channel 2 and leaving it there (I don't bother to noise cancel) should I stick to doing this on the beach or would you recommend me noise cancelling the machine?

    many thanks
    steve

hi steve , i always noise cancel . i like to think the machine knows best but thats just my opinion. any false noise is unwelcome when you are looking for those deep signals , all the best sean

Hello! I'm still using my Etrac and only have the ground cancel set between 2 and 5 as this was always reckoned to be best for hammered coins. If I let the machine suit itself it usually finishes on about level 10. Is this still true with the CTX?

Duh! It must be old age finally getting to me! I missed the beach bit - must be selective eyesight as well as the selective hearing 'er indoors ascribes to me!

I do the same as you Steve. I never noise cancel, don't really need to Im only ever with my mate dave and I try and get him to do his or turn it off If he gets too near making a noise with his ETrac. I leave mine on a set number, I think its on 11 on the CTX but it might be on one of the lower numbers. I never ground balance either, My CTX runs as sweet as a nut down here in Dorset usually on manual 30 sens, sometimes I drop it 3 or 4 or go into Auto+3 just depends. I always reckon if it aint broke (ie noisy) and its finding stuff which mine does don't fix it, why! Too many new owners constantly worry about changing settings and programmes seeking the ultimate when all they need to do is keep things simple and learn what works for them properly and above all travel slow & low.
