This is a Short Video of a Scottish Hoard of Hammered silver coins coming out on Toddys dig on Sunday 29th January 2012

As one of the folks in the video (hi-viz jacket), it was a special thing to be a part off. Around 20 hammered pennies were found, mostly Edwards but a couple of Scottish and one Irish also came up. My trusty Explorer SE found a Scottish penny still to be identified. The organiser, Colin (Toddy) Irvine, asked that the coins be kept together rather than risk the publicity given to the recent Sovereign hoard when finders walked of with their finds. They will be submitted to the Scotiish Museum as TT. I'll keep you posted as we are returning next week. Doubt if much more will be found but I'll have my big Excelerator coil on!

I hope they all get to keep them, esp the chap who found the Irish Edward penny!! He deserves it, talk about the joy in his swearing!!!
