Makes you wonder why Minelab never looked at a pinpointer themselves, very techincal on that gold detecting site, clever solutions

No it doesn't, it only interferes when it is on and under 2 feet away

Wish I read that link first, I just thought the gpx500 was a bit noise and I had to put up with it, but the next time I go out I will leave the prob in the van,

I find that as long as the pro pointer is a few feet from the coil then its fine

Re: Does your Garrett Pro Pointer interfere with your GPX 5000? Even when it is switched off?

Bummer to get interference even when it's off! My Vibraprobe interferes with the Explorer when it's on if it gets within a few feet of the coil, but not when it's off!

Re: Does your Garrett Pro Pointer interfere with your GPX 5000? Even when it is switched off?

Have absolutely NOT a problem with the garret and the GPX! I use both NF monos and coiltek DDs. The biggest problems with interference are Fisher F75s, tractors, wind, train lines, mineralised ground and oncoming thunderstorms. Sometimes sides of hills and in the vicinity of airports.
Why Waste time using an ordinary detector when you have the option to use a GPX5000

    Brilliant,

I have been mounting the garrett pro pointer on the back of my belt seams to cut is down quiet a lot, but 100% it was interfering with my GPX 5000,

Today I will produce a shielded holster for the garrett and post the video on here for the world to see.

Re: Does your Garrett Pro Pointer interfere with your GPX 5000? Even when it is switched off?

Not noticed any issues myself. Having said that detector is on the right and the probe is on the left so about as far away as possible. Maybe I provide good insulating capabilities......

Re: Does your Garrett Pro Pointer interfere with your GPX 5000? Even when it is switched off?

Never used a pointer myself. After seeing numerous vids showing people using pointers I can honestly say I do it a lot quicker just using the coil and my hands.

Re: Does your Garrett Pro Pointer interfere with your GPX 5000? Even when it is switched off?

I'm not using commander coils - only coiltek and NFA, and trust me Ive had my detector in many environments.
Detector is on my right, Garret Pro on my right. No interference, so I guess it could be new Garret Pro Pointers, I've had mine ca. 2 years.

Here is a test and modification we can do for the pro pointer standard holster, let me know what you think please!
