Garmin eTrex Vista HCx

After having read the previous posts I went ahead and bought the Garmin ETrex vista to track my detecting and record my find spots. I've got the hang of the machine but I'm having a few snags with transfering the data to Google earth and storing the data.
I have connected the GPS to my PC and from the Google earth "Tools" Option, I click on GPS and then I transfer waypoints and tracks. The question is, how do i save this data so that the next time I visit the same area and down load new data, it is added to the previous lot?

Here's what I do:

Create a folder under "My Places" with the name of that particular hunting area.

When you transfer data from your GPS it is placed in the "Temporary Places" folder automatically. Rename the files (including the date) and drag them to your newly created folder. That way you will have a stored record of each day's hunt. After you are sure you have everything transferred and stored in GE, delete the track in the GPS for the next hunt.

Repeat for a new location as necessary.
