I have had a few members ask me for the settings I use. I think
it's really down to personal choice and there is no substitute for
getting to know the machine through field work. These settings are
a tad noisey, but it honestly does'nt take long to get used to them.
MAIN MENU
AUDIO------>VOLUME----->MAX LIMIT= Personal choice( this
is purely audio volume)...........GAIN = 9
TONE------->TH.TONE= I have mine on 1, but again personal choice.........VARIABILITY=10.........LIMITS=7..........
SOUNDS=CONDUCT.
OPTIONS--->ADVANCED------>RESPONSE= AUDIO 3.......RECOVER=In
high iron areas I use FAST.
THRESHOLD=7
SENSITIVITY= manual as high as possible, but maintaining a clear
threshold tone.
I detect using advanced smart mode with a clear screen and IRON
MASK at -15.
When I want to slow down and concerntrate on a small area I will
turn IRON MASK off. This puts the machine effectively into all metal
mode with the advantage of having the varied audio tones and the
target crosshairs to help you decide what to dig or what not to
dig.
If the crosshair falls away from the left of the screen, I dig.
I also switch to the large screen when detecting, much easier to
see the display.
